    Anoca Zone v Extraordinary General Assembly (Nov 8th-9th-2013)

    The General Assembly was held in Bujumbura Capital City and IjendaInland Township located at 40 km from Bujumbura.

The General Assembly was held in Bujumbura Capital City and IjendaInland Township located at 40 km from Bujumbura. The first day of activities started in the afternoon focused on preparation of the General Assembly recommended by the Executive Committee. In the evening a dinner was offered while oiled by entertainment culminatingwith heart stirring drums and second to none dances of various styles. In the meantime, speeches relevant to the event were delivered respectively by Bujumbura Mayor, President of NOC Burundi Major General Evariste NDAYISHIMIYE and finally ANOCA Zone V President Dr Mohamed HALIM. Then the Extraordinary General Assembly meeting was relocated to Ijenda township located at 40 km from Bujumbura capital city. The chairman started the meeting by looking at the list of participants followed by the introduction of the delegates and focused on the agenda of the meeting. Agenda items: 1. Appointing of commissions 2. Youth Games 3. Logo and questionnaire 4. General Assembly 2014 Resolutions adopted 1. Commissions: The General Assembly agreed on 5commissions: - Marketing and media - Research and Technical development - Women and Sports - Medical commission - Peace and youth. A panel of 3 members will determine criteria and mandate of the commissions and send them to the General Secretary for nomination of members of the commission. The members are: 1. Ahmed HASHIM, NOC Sudan 2. Duran FARAH, NOC Somalie 3. Salvator BIGIRIMANA, NOC Burundi Caution:Each commission should have 5 members in total 2. Youth Games. NOC Egypt accepted to host Youth Games by having participant confined in 16-18 age group in preparation of Youth Games in Gaborone 2014 and Olympic youth Games 2014 in Nanjing China. The General Assembly decided to stick to 5 sports: i.e: athletics, swimming, taekwondo, tennis, judo and basketball (3by 3) as a team sport, titled ANOCA ZONE V 1st YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS. Date of event: From 12 to 17th of February 2014 ;Cairo 3. Logo and questionnaire For efficient management and marketing NOC Sudan suggested change of logo for the zone and also circulated a questionnaire. 3.1. Logo - NOC Egypt should make a logo for the championship - ANOCA ZONE V logo will be adopted in an extraordinary General Assembly. 3.2. Questionnaire Each NOC will complete the questionnaire and have it sent to the General Secretary of ANOCA ZONE V. Caution : The questionnaire will be sent to all NOCs by e-mail. 4. General Assembly 2014 NOC Sudan was the only bidder for hosting the General Assembly 2014.The General Assembly of ANOCA ZONE V accepted the request. The date will be communicated by the General Secretary of ANOCA ZONE V, at a later date. At the end of the meeting, the chairman asked Kenyan delegate to pass a vote of thanks on behalf of the delegates.
