The national Olympic Committee of Somalia has today released an statement to eliminate the activities of its representatives in various countries around the world to pave a way a better understanding and co-operation between the SNOC and Somali communities in the Diaspora.

"As part of its quadrennial activities, Somali NOC reassessed the work and members of the SOC representatives around the world. SOC had noted that a few numbers of the representatives had done enormous work for the identification of talented Somali youth around their areas and connected them to their respective national federations and those

identified youth had represented their mother country in many regional, continental and international tournaments, and SOC is thankful to their contribution.

We also note that there are many others who hadn’t done the expected work.

With the above observation, Somali NOC had decided from today, which is 17th March 2013, that SOC terminated all representative posts. No one represents SOC in any jurisdiction in any capacity.

SOC will, after consultations with the diaspora members, come up with best possible ways and methods to identify and give the Somali diaspora youth the chance to represent their home country.
