The 16th male handball championship has opened in Mogadishu into much fanfare with top sporting authorities praising as a milestone.

Handball Federation General Secretary Mr. Nur Maye Osman said that this year the championship is far more interesting than the previous years as teams are more prepared to take on each other and enrolled young players.

Somali Handball Fedaration President Mohamed Hurshe Hassan Well Know eenow Who Spoke at the ccermony said " We need to see a good decipline from the players and managarer of teams and somali Handball will Award every one at his perfomance.".

Youth Ministry Director General Mr. Dahir Abdullahi Abdi who spoke at the ceremony said that his ministry is happy with progress done in the handball and praised efforts by Handball Federation.

There are 7 teams taking part in the tournament with Horsed and Nation link clashing in the opening matches which ended Horsed 18 goals to 7 of Nation Link.
