Somali Olympic Committee Women and sport Commission member participated the ANOCA Women and sport Commission forum that was held in Luanda, Angola on 8th of November 2010. The ANOCA Women and Sport forum had 48 particpants drawn from 48 countires in Africa. The froum discussed the women and sports development issues and agreed Egypt and Jordan resolutions be used as a basis for discussion at the Luanda forum.  Somali is being represented by Ms. Fadumo Ali Nor from the Somali Olympic Committee Women and sport Commission. During the forum the participants were divided in to working groups and each group asked to come up with a project. Ms. Fadumo proposed peace building through sport and used Somalia as an example. Ms. Fadumo talked of child soldiers, the lack of sport infrastructure and all the realities of the current situation of Somalia. The group was sympathetic to the situation in Somalia. The participants brainstormed and came to the conclusion that there is a need to build the capacity of those working in sport and use sport as a peace building tool. The African women unanimously resolved to adopt the following action plan; Communications: ANOCA to establish a language tool to foster communications, intensify interaction women in Africa and WAS commissions. women and Sport Activities: ANOCA to develop guidelines for the planning of sports activities for women. Capacity Buidling Programs: ANOCA provides leadership values and quality programs, training of media practioners in women and sport, organize regional meetings on women and sports, develop Terms of Reference TOR of the commissional zonal leaders. ANOCA Budget: There is a need for ploicy orientation in the ANOCA budgetary system, to organize the importance of women and sport development, ANOCA to establish a special budget line for Women and Sport After the seminar ended the participants met in their zonal groups. Somalia is part of Zone 5 which had representatives from East Africa. The incumbent president of Zone 5 requested that the zone nominate a secretary and the zone elected a new secretary general.   Somali NOC Media Department
