The vice president of Somali Olympic Committee Hassan Ahmed (Elman) and the president of Somali Boxing Federation Mohamed Olow are having treatments in United Arab Emirates for the injuries sustained during the terrorist attack of the national Theater of Mogadishu, Somalia on Wednesday, April 4th 2012.
The explosion that claimed the lives of both the presidents of Somali Olympic Committee Aden Yabarow (Wiish) and Football governing body’s president Said Nur injured these two top officials and despite their injuries were not considered as life threatening it could affect them later in life if not treated well.
“These officials have been there to representSomali Olympic Committee and entire Somali sports community when the explotion struck at them andsustained these injuries and we have to think about them and seek the best possible treatment they can get. As Somali Olympic Committee, we have managed to take them to United Arab Emirates where they have been getting the care and treatment they deserve and with the help of our friends and Somali brothers and sisters we will continue supporting them until they are fully fit and healthy”, said the acting president of Somali Olympic Committee Duran Farah.
The officials will remain in hospital in the United Arab Emirates until they are fully recovered and released by their doctors to return to their beloved country where they have been working very hard to improve the lives of Somali Youth and promote peace through sport.
