Somali Olympic Committee's first executive meeting of the year took place in Mogadishu on 14-01-2015 to highlight last year's challenges, the progress made to establish regional representatives and sports administrations as well as recommendations made by the council that will be put forward to the general assembly tomorrow for approval.
During the meeting the council has deeply discussed on the organisation's strategic policy and priorities towards regional sports adminstrations and later concluded to work on the capacity building projects such as providing seminars for sports administrations and coaches.
The council also talked about the newly designed logo for the organisation, which meets the recommendations made by International Olympic Committee to all of its members regarding their logos and will be unveiled tomorrow at the general assembly to seek for endorsement.
In the end after long examination the council suggested expanding the committee’s members in order to empower the committee’s efforts to implement its upcoming projects adequately and decided to take this proposal to the general assembly to ask for approval. The financial planning of 2015 will also be one of the topics that will be put forward to the assembley for consent.
The general assembly of Somali Olympic Committee will take place at Shamo Hotel in the capital of Somalia on 15-01-2015, which expected to bring togather all of its affiliate associations and federations, regional representatives, officials from ministry of Youth and Sport and other sports dignitaries.
