    Somali sports minister visits the ill-equipped sports grounds of the capital.

The newly appointed Minister of Somali Youth and Sports Mohamed Abdullahi Nuh accompanied by the Somali Olympic Committee's president Abdullahi Tarabi, the president of Somali football Federation Abdi-Gani Arab and president of Somali Handball Federation Mohamed Hurshe Hassan has paid a courtesy visit to the capitals sports stadiums.

The minister in his first three months in the office required to see all functioning and non-functioning sports facilities in the capital by himself and listen to the sports authorities’ concerns and worries while prioritising his duties as a minister of youth sports.

Starting his visit at Banadir Stadium which is the only operational football stadium, the minister has not only witnessed first class football bitch that meets the international standard but was stunned to glimpse Somali National Football Team having a training session in the stadium during his visit.

"I am very pleased to see you training in a wonderful football bitch as the rest of the national teams around the world and I would like to take this opportunity by expressing my gratitude to Somali football federation for working hard to craft this surroundings for you which I am certainly sure is a base that we can move forward” said the overjoyed minister before he encouraged the under 21 football team preparing for 2016 Olympic Games football preliminary match.  

The president of Somali football federation Abdi Gani Said Arab who has been showing the minister around the stadium has explained the long process plus the difficulties they have gone through during that process and guaranteed to the minister that the remaining parts of the stadium that is currently under construction to be completed in the near future.

The minister and his accompanied sports chiefs have also toured Wiish Basketball Stadium that is shared by Basketball, Volleyball and Handball federations to host its tournaments as it is the only stadium that can host those sports.

"The closure of the biggest and main sports village of the country has made our job less resourceful and put many of us amount of pressure and we would kindly asking you to put pressure on African Peace Keeping Mission in Somalia to evacuate its soldiers from the Sports village (Stadium Mogadishu) which is badly needed by both sports community and government for peace building missions”. The president of Somali Olympic Committee Abdullahi Tarabi notified to the minister while they were examining inside the Stadium.
Minister Mohamed Abdullahi Nuh has finally toured the under construction project of Somali Football Federation’s head quarter with National team’s residence and training facilities and praised the tireless efforts of Somali Football Federation before he completed his tour at the head quarter of Somali Olympic Committee at heart of the capital. Here the minister thanked NOCSOM’s president for organising such a fruitful visits and promised to continue working very closely with Somali Olympic Committee and its affiliate.

It is the first time that Sport and Youth minister pays visit to these ill-equipped sports facilities of the capital which is widely welcomed by sports leaders and community as whole and hope the visit will help the minister and shed some light on the situation.
