Vice president of Somali Olympic Committee Duran Farah met three Somali Born athlethes in a north London. Jamal Mohamed, Samatar Mohamed and Mumin Guelleh are long distance runners and compete races in all over UK. To show the support and encouragement of the NOC and to attract more young athletes in the Diaspora were main purposes of the meeting."We as an organisation appreciate your achievements and would like to be part of that success" said Duran Farah who also mentioned how valuable their experiences are for young Somali generations and encouraged these athletes to run for their home country in international level.Jamal Mohamed was delighted to hear that the opportunity to run for his country is open and is looking forward to do so as well as continuing running for his club.The athletes who run 800m, 1500m, 5000m and 10,000m are members of London's East Ham and Beagles running clubs and won many trophies and prices along the way."More meetings and events will be organised to talk about the progress and achievements of these athletes as well as identifying another young athletes in Diaspora". Said Alhijra Athletic coordinator Mohamed Bogoreh.
