A week-long high level FIFA coaching course for 30 Somali football coaches has come to an end with a very well organized closing ceremony held at the Sheraton hotel in Djibouti on Friday evening. During the highly arranged ceremony dignitaries from FIFA, Somali football federation and sports ministers of Djibouti and Somalia and other honorable guests who delivered speeches were very grateful to FIFA boss Joseph S Blatter and his world football family for their commitment to develop football in the chaotic.
The high level coaching course was the first of its kind ever held for the war-devastated country where sport is facing tougher challenges, because of lawlessness and Islamist restrictions.
Somali football federation secretary general Abdi Qani said Arab gave details about the importance of the course and how it has been arranged saying that world football governing body FIFA and Somali football federation have jointly been working to implement the course for the past six months.
He said that the constructive idea to hold the course in the neighboring Djibouti came from FIFA after consultations with Somali football federation dignitaries and that marked how FIFA president Blatter and his world football family are interested in developing Somali football.
