For the first time in nineteen years Somalia has reoccupied its position in the executive board of Arab basketball confederation with Somali basketball federation general secretary Bana Abdalla Ali elected to executive committee member during the election congress of ABC in Cairo this week.   Somalia has missed its position in the executive board of Arab basketball confederation since the country descended into violence and bloodshed just 19 years ago.   Somali basketball federation general secretary Engineer Bana Abdala Ali told reporters in Cairo that Somalia is very happy with the return of its position in the executive committee of Arab basketball confederation after many years of absence.   Members of the Somali basketball family in and outside the war-ravaged country have been celebrating for the post and sent their congratulations to Engineer Bana Abdalla Ali and the whole family of Somali basketball federation.   Somalia has been without a functioning central government since 1991 with all governmental institutions and infrastructures had been totally destroyed, while national sporting federations under the umbrella of Somali national Olympic committee have been representing the chaotic country in international sports gatherings.   By shafi
