    SOC Participates in the ANOC's 17th Congress

    The Association of National Olympic Committee's 17th Congress had opened in the Acapulco city of mexico on Tuesday 19th october 2010.

The Association of National Olympic Committee's 17th Congress had opened in the Acapulco city of mexico on Tuesday 19th october 2010. Somali is being represented by Mr. Duran Farah, SOC 1st vice president and Head of International Relations, in this biannual ANOC congress. on Tuesday 19/10, the continenatl association like ANOCA of Africa, OCA of Asia, PASO of Americas, EOC of Europe, and ONOC of Oceana, had seperate meetings. in ANOCA's meeting, the administration had presented the activities report of ANOCA and the developments achieved by ANOCA. On Wednesday 20/10, the ANOC 17th congress had opened and it was officially opened by the president of Mexico Mr. Filipe Calderon. The congress had started  its agendas and elected Mr. Mario Vasques Rana, the presdient of ANOC since its creation in 1979, to lead the association in the coming 4 years.         This year's ANOC congress was participated by the Ministiries of Sports of member countries for the first time in its history. The aim of the Ministries' participation of ANOC congress is how the governments can help the National Olympic Committees to develop the wellbeing of the athletes and youth.        SOC Media Department
